All new Operators will begin their orientation in Detroi, MI. Please call the Fleet Development department to schedule an available date and arrange for your arrival. All new Operators will receive their Hotel Accommodations compliments of FTI. Lunches will be provided, and Owner Operators will receive $0.50 cents for each mile traveled to orientation, to help with fuel cost. Orientation at FTI enables you to, meet your individual driver manager, become familiar with the paperwork requirements, and tour our facility. To ensure that you receive the best training available, please review the following checklist. Ensure that all documents are clear and legible. Should you have any questions, we will be more than happy to help you.
Proof of Ownership
- Legible copy of Title with owner’s name (Or if purchased within the last 60 days).
- Notarized copy of the Bill of Sale including VIN, Model #, Amount of Sale, Signatures from Buyer and Seller, and Date of purchase.
Certificate of Insurance for the following:
- Physical Damage.
- Bobtail Coverage (which must show Bill Thompson Transport Inc. as certificate holder) or if purchasing insurance through FTI: stated value of truck x 3.16%, will be your annual cost deducted weekly.
- Loss Payee Information: Name and Address of Financial Institution to be named on Certificate.
Copy of Cab Card
- State apportioned for our area of operation or reviewed before arrival (Or FTI provides plate @ $35 each weekly pay period)
- Paid Current 2290 with legible VIN and IRS Stamp.
DBA or Corporation Documents if Applicable (with EIN)
